Adorable sixth-plate tintype of a cute young girl posed with her lion statue.  The lion appears at rest or possibly dying as it appears to be quite emaciated and its ribs are visible.  We can only guess at the significance of this lion as the girl gently rests her hand on its head as if to pet her furry friend.  The girl’s hair is done in long ringlets and her large dark eyes seem rather sad.  The image is in very good condition with some light tinting to her face.  There are a couple of vertical lines that are just to the right of her.  It is housed in half of a pressed-paper case.
