Sweet sixth-plate daguerreotype of two sisters and their brother. The family resemblance is unmistakable! They are identified by a hand-written note pinned to the silk pad as Frances Ellen Thompson, born July 11, 1839, Merrick Adelbert Thompson, born Sept. 10, 1844, Celia Maria Thompson, born June 27, 1841. It also states they are cousins of Mary Thompson Simpson, Emery’s grandmother. The image is in very good condition but is somewhat dark in its tonal qualities. There is also a wide band of perimeter tarnish. It had old seals intact and has been resealed with a new glass. It is housed in a full leather case.
