Impressive half-plate French daguerreotype of a military officer. Posed with a scowl on his face and hand on sword we’re sure we would not want to meet this man on the battlefield. With quite the hourglass figure, (thanks to a corset, perhaps?), he looks to be in top notch shape. His hat is seen sitting next to him on the table. The image is in very good condition and has been cleaned sometime in the past. There is a slight area of cloudiness or discoloration on the right perimeter. Also, at an angle a small discoloration, brown in color, is visible on his hand next to the hat. There are some pinprick sized spots also scattered about. The image in a typical passe-partout presentation and has been resealed in the past. Neither the photographer nor sitter are identified.
