Sweet sixth-plate daguerreotype of an adorable girl preciously posed to lean slightly against her mother. Her eyes glance toward the daguerreotypist and she tenderly grasps her mother’s hand for reassurance. The mother wears a slight grin as her gently puts her arm around her daughter’s waist. The close bond between the two is quite evident. This is a vibrant plate with nice tonal qualities and a hint of tarnish around the perimeter. There are some scattered spots along with a few pinprick sized green spots. It has been resealed with a new glass and is housed in full leather case that has a large area of leather missing on the backside.
