Daguerreotype offerings include an extraordinary French image from our personal collection, a stunning African American woman with her white charge, an extremely early example of a Mascher case with a commanding portrait of a Philadelphia family, a rare example of a composer working on his score and a German military man with his wife. 

Other hard  images include a jeweler, a fascinating Japanese mourning portrait that  includes a dog, a young lad working for a NYC brasserie, a Scottish sailor, a Civil War image, a postmortem of an African American child and an image which includes a black Abraham Lincoln doll. 

CDVs and cabinet cards include some wonderful photographic advertisements, occupaionals, a lightening strike, bikes, Civil War African American images and musicians. Paper images include an early view of NYC.

We offer a comprehensive range of 19th century photographic fine art and related ephemera including daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and tintypes, and a diverse selection of paper photography including CDVs, cabinet cards, albumen and gelatin silver prints, photogravurers and woodburytypes, by American, English and European photographers. We also offer one of the finest selections of thermoplastic frames and cases. Additionally, we offer a selection of turn-of-the-century and 20th-century photography by American and European artists.
